Keep up to date with all the news from the Hull Parent Carer forum and what’s happening in our local area for SEND families.

New GOV guidance has been published today to improve school attendance. Hull Parent Carer Forum are working with the LA to coproduce an Attendance strategy.
To enable this strategy to be used to achieve the outcome of increased attendance we need our LA to understand the reasons why some of our neurodivergent children have difficulties attending school and what support needs to be in place to help the child and their families make sure that any barriers to the child attending are removed and the child can attend school happily in an environment that is right for them. This also includes if your child is not attending due to system failings out of your control , transport issues etc.
Without this information the strategy will not be effective as it will not address the root causes of attendance difficulties.
Please spend a few minutes to help us gather this information and your experiences of attendance difficulties so we can make sure your voice is heard and that the strategy produced supports children and young people with SEN/neurodivergences.
Here are a few questions to help you get started.
